The May 28 worship service opened with Chase Hogan and Ryker Kurtz lighting the altar candles, followed by Carl Carder and Jerry Lukehart bearing the American and Christian flags in honor of Memorial Sunday. Dennis Croy gave the welcome and opening prayer.

June is FCC volunteer month to deliver Meals on Wheels.
There will be a baptism class after worship on June 4. That evening we will host area Disciples of Christ churches at a Festival of Faith. The event begins with games and kite-flying at 5 pm followed by a hot dog meal at the pavilion at 5:30. We will then move into the sanctuary for a message by Regional Minister Ron Routledge and communion will be served.
Youth will meet at the church at 5:30 on June 9 to attend Resound Fest at Miracles Hills Ranch, Bethany. They will begin an archery ministry led by Dan Dreesen at 4 pm on June 11.
Lighthouse Learning Center has begun a fundraising campaign for new playground equipment with a goal of $40,000. The playground is in the process of being enlarged with new surface material, shade, and fencing added. The daycare has saved enough money to pay for the upgrade but needs additional funds for play equipment. You can donate to the fund by making checks payable to either Lighthouse Learning Center or First Christian Church and dropping off at church, sending in the mail, or through our secure app (click "Give" on the menu. Make a notation that the donation is for the playground fund.
