In January 1899
our "new sanctuary" at 111 E. Grand was dedicated. Around 1913, the men
of the congregation dug a basement beneath the sanctuary and the ladies raised
money to add a fellowship hall and kitchen in this new space. (This photo is of
an oil painting of the original church building--painted by Frances Wynne)

After a great amount of prayer and
evaluation of the building's condition, the congregation
agreed it was time to let the old building go. On May 15,
2005--after removing all the stained
glass windows--the old church and education building was sold with
the stipulation that the
sanctuary would be torn down so as not to be left as an eye-sore to
the community.
